StarHunt combines direct GitHub search with contributor analysis across the most popular repos in each ecosystem.
Pick a technology from 21 options, one or more locations, and scoring keywords (MongoDB, Docker, microservices…).
The tool queries the GitHub API, cross-references contributor data with search results, then filters and scores every profile automatically.
Profiles appear in real time as they're found. Download the CSV at any point - includes login, bio, email, followers, score, and skill badges.

For each technology, StarHunt maintains a curated list of reference repositories, the projects that define the ecosystem. Node.js? That includes fastify, nestjs, express, prisma, and 40+ others.
StarHunt fetches the contributors of each reference repo, the people actually writing code in the ecosystem, not just claiming to on a resume.
Each contributor's profile is cross-checked against location, bio, and company fields. "Paris", "France", "FR" and 12 other variants are matched automatically.
Each profile is scored 0–100 based on bio relevance (+45 if the tech appears), follower count (+up to 20), repository count (+up to 10), and contact availability (+8). Only profiles above 50 are kept.
Results are ranked by score and streamed in real time. Export to CSV with one click, name, location, email, GitHub URL, score, and tech badges included.

Every profile is scored 0–100 based on bio relevance, follower count, public repository activity, and open-source contributions. Only profiles scoring above 50 are surfaced, so you see engineers, not imposters.
France, Paris, Lyon, Berlin, Remote - select preset chips or type any city. The filter cross-checks location, bio, and company fields so nothing slips through.
Instead of searching all of GitHub, StarHunt starts from 443 hand-picked repositories, one curated list per technology. It then discovers and ranks the developers who actually contribute to them. That's why results are more relevant than a standard GitHub search.
